Walking the Waterway
Was out and about last night, trying out the camera on my new iPhone 12 Pro Max. It is amazing how far these cameras have come in the last couple years. Low light was a major stumbling block for cell phone cameras because of the small sensors. The smaller the sensor the less light it receives, couple that with small lenses and you have noisy and blurry pictures. But the 12 Pro Max not only has a 47% larger sensor on its main camera but with all the computational work going on in the background these phones are capable of great low light pictures. I can’t wait for Canon and Nikon to catch up with Apple on the computational photography side, because when they do we will finally have the best of both worlds. Large sensors and lenses with amazing processing power! It will be awesome.
